Reading posts made by friends this morning I see that people are truly terrified by our election results, women in particular. My first thoughts this morning were that this is so disheartening, this makes me so sad...how could the American people elect a known misogynistic racist egomaniac? What are we doing? Where are we going? I had a lot of thoughts like these running through my mind this morning; fear...blame...distrust...disgust.
What it comes down to I suppose is that people are looking for change. Given the electoral choices of business as usual, or crazy egocentric misogynistic racist, the people chose crazy. That says something...that really says something. It's time for the old ways to tumble down. We may be looking for change in the wrong places, but at least we are looking. Maybe this event will help us to wake up to our own part in the sate of this world...we are together in this...no matter how divided we may seem to be, we are still wholly together in this. Don't let this day sway you towards the hate or the fear. It's time to wake up. It's time to actually be together...in kindness...in compassion. It's time for massive change on an individual level, on a national level, on a global level. “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Be light.
